What is Exclusive Device Lock?Updated a month ago

The Exclusive Device Lock is a new security feature that makes sure only you can use your Hypershell device. When this feature is turned on, no one else can access or control your device unless they are authorized.


Key Features:

  • Lock Your Device: When enabled, only you can use the device. Anyone else who tries to connect will get a notification and won’t be able to access it.
  • Bluetooth Required: You need to connect your device to your phone via Bluetooth to turn on or off the lock.
  • Lock Indicator: When the lock is on, a lock icon will show up on your device in the app, letting you know it’s protected.


How to Enable or Disable the Lock:

  1. Open the Hypershell+ App: Go to your profile by tapping My Profile.
  2. Go to My Device: Under My Device, tap Exclusive Device Access.
  3. Enable/Disable the Lock: Turn the Exclusive Device Lockon or off.
    • When the lock is on, only you can use the device.


What Happens When the Lock is Active:

  • When the Lock is On:
    • Only you can use the device. Anyone else trying to connect will be blocked.
    • A lock icon will appear on your device in the app, showing that it’s locked.
  • When the Lock is Off:
    • Anyone can connect to your device and use it.


Troubleshooting:

  1. Can’t Turn on the Lock?

    • Make sure your device is connected to the Hypershell+ app via Bluetooth. The lock won’t work unless the device is connected.
    • If it’s connected and you still can’t turn on the lock, try restarting the app and reconnecting your device. 
  2. Device Isn’t Responding After Lock is On:

    • Check if the lock icon appears on your device in the app.
    • Make sure you’re logged into the right account in the app.
    • If needed, turn off the lock from the app and try again.
  3. Someone Else is Trying to Connect:

    • If you don’t want others to connect, make sure the Exclusive Device Lock is on.
    • If the lock is already on and someone is still trying to connect, check that your account is correctly logged in.
  4. Lock Icon Won’t Show Up:

    • Restart the Hypershell+ app and make sure your device is properly connected via Bluetooth.
    • If it still doesn’t work, check for any available updates or reinstall the app.
